Suspect in double murder shooting previously arrested for shooting at fast food drive-thru

Two people were killed and three others were injured in a shooting at the Westside Village shopping center on Friday evening, October 4th. Investigators identified two suspects in connection with the double murder, including an 18-year-old who had previously been arrested for a shooting in the drive-thru of a Jack in the Box earlier this year.

The police are still searching for the suspects. Investigators with the Redding Police Department (RPD) identified Andrew Greer-Herrera of Lookout, California, as the primary suspect in the shooting. However, they also obtained an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Trevon Evanoff for conspiracy to participate in the shooting.

Evanoff was previously arrested on March 21 for negligent discharge of a firearm in a public place and numerous other firearms-related charges after a verbal argument turned into a shooting in the Jack in the Box drive-thru on East Cypress Avenue had in Redding. According to police, around 3 a.m., people in two different vehicles got into an argument on the thoroughfare, which resulted in Evanoff getting out of his vehicle and confronting the occupants of the other vehicle. Police said the occupants then drove away and Evanoff shot them. No injuries were reported.

The shooting on Friday, October 4th remains under investigation. According to police, starting at 2:41 a.m. near Westside Road and Meadowbrook Drive, they received multiple calls about shots fired and multiple gunshot victims. Officers arrived and found two dead men and three other injured people at the scene. As of this writing, two of the three injured victims have been released from the hospital, while one female victim remains hospitalized. Their names have not yet been released.

The whereabouts of Greer-Herrera and Evanoff are currently unknown. Investigators are asking for help finding the two suspects. Concerned that they may be armed and dangerous, officers are asking the community not to contact the suspects and instead call SHASCOM Dispatch if they are seen.
