Five people died in a car accident in Ohio, investigations are ongoing

CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (NBC, KYMA/KECY) – Five people are dead in an overnight crash in southwest Ohio.

The two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route (SR) 28 around 1:30 a.m. Eastern in Clermont County, east of Cincinnati.

One vehicle ended up in the ditch, the other remained on the road after the collision.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, one person was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC) and is in critical condition.

The highway police are leading the investigation into this fatal accident.

It is currently unclear what led to the crash and who the victims are.
