One dead, several injured after shooting near Fort Worth Stockyards

FORWARD WORTH – Fort Worth Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning near the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Officers responded to the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of NW 24th St Sunday morning after reports of a shooting.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and officers found several other victims with gunshot wounds.

The deceased was identified by the Tarrant County Coroner as 18-year-old Joseph Steven Padilla. According to information on the coroner’s website, Padilla’s birthday was Saturday, October 5.

The injured victims were transported to local hospitals and are expected to survive their injuries, police said.

Another victim drove a private vehicle to a local hospital.

Police have not yet released any information about suspects or arrests in connection with the incident.
