Two dead in multi-vehicle crash on Sussex Highway

SEAFORD, Del. – A two-vehicle collision in Seaford early Sunday morning left two people dead.

According to Delaware State Police, at approximately 1:34 a.m. a Nissan Rogue was traveling southbound in the left lane on Sussex Highway.

At the same time, a Honda Pilot was traveling north but in the same left southbound lane as the Nissan Rogue when the cars collided head-on.

Two passengers in the Rogue were pronounced dead at the scene, a 22-year-old man from Fayetteville, North Carolina and an 18-year-old woman from Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Her identity will be kept secret until family is notified.

The driver of the Rogue, a 22-year-old man from Washington, D.C., and the other passenger, an 18-year-old woman from Bethesda, Maryland, were both taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The pilot’s driver, a 24-year-old man, and his passenger, a 40-year-old man, both of Georgetown, Delaware, were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries.

Police believe impairment was responsible for the accident.
