Co. Wicklow Halloween swap shop is looking for more spooky items

FOLLOWING the success of Greystones’ first Halloween Swap Shop last year, the spooky Swap Shop is returning to the Greystones Library to collect even more much-needed clothing and promote a more sustainable journey in life.

Organized by Councilor Lourda Scott, Barbara from local sustainability company Greenthread and local parent company Clodagh, the Halloween swap shop will open again this year on Saturday, October 12th from 12.30pm in the library.

Organizers are again asking for your old costumes, but keep a few pointers in mind before clearing out the closet and dirty laundry baskets. “Please take a look and see if you have any old costumes that won’t be used this year,” the trio requested.

“We look for everything that is clean and in good condition. If you can’t make it on October 12th, please drop off everything you have at the library so another Halloween spook can wear it. This will help reduce some of the waste on Halloween and help people save some money.”

In the meantime, take a look at greenthread.ie, which promotes upcycling as the perfect way to keep the textiles we own in the circular economy.
