Calcutta High Court demands second autopsy in student’s tragic case

The tragic case of a 10-year-old student in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district has taken another turn with the Calcutta High Court ordering a second post-mortem.

Justice Tirthankar Ghosh responded to the family’s petition and demanded that the trial be held under judicial supervision at AIIMS Hospital in Kalyani.

The court also specified involvement under the POCSO Act, directed the police to take action and ensured that in case of lack of facilities at AIIMS, an alternative option was available at Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Hospital but the task would be undertaken by AIIMS doctors only should.
