Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a man who was openly firing at students during the anti-discrimination student movement in Sirajganj from Cox’s Bazar beach last night.

The arrested person was identified as Abu Musa, 42, son of late Sanowar Hossain, a resident of Dattabari Ward No. 8 in Sirajganj Pourasabha.

Musa opened fire indiscriminately on students and crowds during the anti-discrimination movement on August 4th. He is considered to be the main cadre of former Sirajganj-2 MP Jannat Ara Henry.

Additional Superintendent of Police MD Abul Kalam Chowdhury, senior deputy director (legal and media) of Rab-15, confirmed that Musa was arrested in a raid at Kolatoli Point yesterday evening.

He is accused of three counts of murder.

During main interrogation, Musa admitted that he had fired on students and crowds during the anti-discrimination student movement.
