Woman dead after mobile home fire in Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – A woman died in a rapidly spreading mobile home fire in Phoenix Saturday evening.

At 7:30 p.m., firefighters responded to reports of a house fire near 35th Avenue and Glendale Avenue. When they arrived, they discovered a trailer completely engulfed in flames.

The emergency services immediately began attacking the fire and entered the trailer. Inside they found the woman’s body.

Firefighters extinguished the fire before it spread to the house. The residents were unharmed and no other injuries were reported.

Phoenix police secured the scene and the Phoenix Fire Investigations Task Force is working to determine what caused the fatal fire.

“It shows you how dangerous fires can be, especially in small buildings and when safety precautions like smoke detectors are not in place,” said Phoenix Fire Capt. Scott Douglass.

Preliminary information shows no signs of foul play.
