Police are investigating a rollover accident in Maple Ridge’s backyard

The Ridge Meadows RCMP says it is investigating a rollover accident in Maple Ridge that resulted in a car landing upside down in another person’s backyard.

Police said they were called to a home on Mier Drive near 140B Avenue, where they found the overturned vehicle that appeared to have damaged several other backyards.

“Fortunately, no one was injured in any of the residential backyards,” Corp said. Brett Urano, RCMP spokesman.

“The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.”

Video posted on social media shows the car speeding past an embankment toward the backyard. The vehicle appeared to have been briefly airborne before the accident.

Investigators said alcohol was not a factor.
