Gold Coast knife attack: Two men hospitalized after suspected attack, investigation ongoing

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital in a critical condition with multiple stab wounds to his chest, stomach and back following a suspected knife attack on the Gold Coast on Saturday morning.

He was one of two Toowoomba men who were allegedly stabbed on Remembrance Dr in Surfers Paradise at around 6.15am.

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with “significant life-threatening” injuries and is now in a stable condition, Queensland Ambulance and Queensland Health confirmed on Sunday.

The second Toowoomba man, also in his 20s, was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with a stab wound to his lower back but has since been discharged.

“Police spoke to several people at the scene; However, no charges have been laid in relation to the wounding incident,” Queensland Police said.

Images of two people who police believe can help with their investigation have been released and anyone who recognizes them has been urged to contact police.

Witnesses or anyone with relevant information were also urged to contact police.

The investigation is ongoing.
