Strictly Come Dancing professionals perform a routine inspired by romantic comedies

Strictly Come Dancing professionals perform a routine inspired by romantic comedies

Strictly Come Dancing’s professional dancers will perform a “rom-com inspired” performance at the start of Sunday’s results show.

The performance will see Neil Jones, singer Toyah Willcox’s partner on the BBC dance show, taking on the role of lead actor in the dance, which is said to be “full of romance, comedy and a few twists”.

Choreographed by Jason Gilkison, the BBC says viewers can expect “sparks to fly and hearts to beat” in the routine, which “celebrates love in true Strictly style”.

During the performance, the professionals dance in colorful outfits around park benches, living rooms and on a rowing boat.

British musician Alexis Ffrench will also perform during the show, accompanied by some dancers.

This episode sees another contestant eliminated from Strictly’s 20th anniversary series, after swimmer Tom Dean and his pro partner Nadiya Bychkova were axed in the first results show of the year last week.

This comes after DIY SOS star Nick Knowles was given a bye until next week after he was unable to appear on Saturday’s Movies Week show due to a “pretty painful” knee injury following a fall during rehearsals on Friday.

Knowles previously revealed he had suffered arm and shoulder injuries but was given medical clearance to appear on the show last weekend.

The Strictly Come Dancing results show airs on Sunday at 7.15pm on BBC One.
