Today’s shooting in Portage Park, Chicago: Man shot in the 5600 block of West Addison Street, police said

CHICAGO (WLS) – A man was fatally shot early Saturday morning in the city’s northwest corner, Chicago police said.

According to police, the shooting happened around 4:15 a.m. in the 5600 block of West Addison Street in the Portage Park neighborhood

A person in a black sedan dropped off a 20-year-old man who had been shot in the right hip, police said.

The victim was in critical condition and later died.

Police said the circumstances surrounding the shooting were unknown.

No one is in custody and Area One detectives are investigating.

Police did not initially provide any further information about the shooting.
