Fayetteville man charged with kidnapping and sexual assault

Monty Darrell Braxton, 48, is charged with two counts of second-degree forcible rape and one count each of first-degree kidnapping and burglary with intent to terrorize and injure.

The arrest warrant alleges that after Braxton was served with a restraining order on Sept. 20, he broke into the victim’s apartment the next morning, beat her, then dragged her into a bedroom and sexually assaulted her.

The next day, the indictment says, Braxton bound the victim’s hands and feet with an extension cord and a belt, covered her with a blanket and checked on her regularly throughout the day. At times, the affidavit states, he was armed with a knife and threatened to harm the victim or himself, according to court documents.
