According to the NYPD, former Gov. David A. Paterson was beaten Friday night on Manhattan’s Upper East Side by a group of five teenagers with whom he had been in a verbal argument.

Paterson, 70, was struck in the face and body, as was a 20-year-old man he was with who was identified in published reports as his stepson, the NYPD wrote in a news release.

The release included surveillance photos of the suspects, who are still at large.
