1 dead, 1 arrested in Longview shooting

LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) – On Saturday, police responded to a shooting where they found one man dead and arrested another accused of murder.

According to a release from the Longview Police Department, officers responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of Baylor Drive around 12:40 p.m. Police said they found a man named Robert Rayson, 25, of Longview, who died from his injuries.

The investigation revealed that the shooting occurred as part of a fight in a house, police said. Officers interviewed everyone at the scene, leading to the arrest of Deleontre Mitchell, 19, of Longview.

Mitchell was charged with murder and booked into the Gregg County Jail.
