23-year-old dies in a traffic accident

A 23-year-old man, Seshadri, died after being hit by a truck near Dasarahalli Metro station on Friday evening. A case has been registered at Peenya traffic police station.

He lived in a slum near Rajagopalanagar and worked as a daily wage labourer. On Friday, around 10pm, he was returning from work on Tumakuru Road when a speeding truck rammed his bike from behind. He died at the scene of the accident after suffering serious head injuries.

According to a police officer, the truck driver fled after the accident. Peenya traffic police soon reached the spot and shifted the body to Victoria Hospital. Police said they summoned the owner of the truck to the train station. The search for the driver is ongoing. The victim leaves behind his parents and a younger sister.

According to the Bengaluru Traffic Police, there were 582 fatal accidents till August in which 596 people died.
