Tragic accident claims three lives as wedding car falls into Pauri Gorge | Dehradun News

Dehradun: Three villagers from Pauri district died and 10 others, including two minors, sustained injuries when their vehicle fell into a 200-meter-deep gorge near Naugaon on Sisildi-Anskhet road in Kotdwar area of ​​Pauri district, police said on Saturday with. The group had just returned from a wedding in Guniyal village when the accident occurred around 6pm on Friday.
Locals, the state disaster relief force (SDRF), and the police launched a rescue operation and brought out the bodies and injured people. Mukesh Singh (35), Nutan Singh (35) and Dheeraj Singh (65) died on the spot. The victims were partly on their way home to Basada village after attending a wedding when the driver lost control of the vehicle. Sources said the driver allegedly took a shortcut to reach the village earlier.
The injured were taken to hospital for treatment and an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. Police said: “The vehicle, which had 13 people in it, rolled down after the driver lost control. All the deceased and injured were from Pauri district. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.”
