Today’s shooting in Fernwood, Chicago: Marzelle C. Moore was shot inside a vehicle in the 10600 block of South State Street, according to police

CHICAGO (WLS) – A man was shot and killed in a vehicle on Chicago’s South Side Friday evening, police said.

According to police, the shooting occurred just after 10:30 p.m. in the 10600 block of South State Street in the Fernwood neighborhood

A 35-year-old man was sitting in a parked vehicle with a woman of unknown age when a man approached them on foot and fired shots, police said.

The Chicago Fire Department transported the victim, who was shot in the head, to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Cook County coroner’s office later identified him as Marzelle C. Moore.

There is no one in custody and Area Two detectives are investigating.

Police did not initially provide any further information about the shooting.
