Texas Blue Alert has been issued for a suspect in connection with the officer-involved shooting in Memphis

Texas authorities early Friday issued a blue alert for 33-year-old Seth Altman, who is wanted in connection with the shooting of a police officer in Memphis, Texas.

Altman, described as standing 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds, with blue eyes and red hair, was last seen around 11 p.m. Thursday on South 4th Street in Memphis, a small city in Hall County about 80 miles southeast of Amarillo , seen . He was reportedly wearing a blue T-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident.

Authorities describe Altman as “armed and dangerous” and urge the public not to approach him. Instead, anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.

Altman is wanted for his involvement in the shooting of a police officer who was reportedly shot multiple times and airlifted to an Amarillo hospital.

Blue Alerts are activated when a suspect is being sought who has caused serious injury or death to a law enforcement officer and there is an ongoing threat to the public.
