Karen Carlisle and Sara Stoehr die in a two-vehicle crash in Edgewood

Van Zandt County, TX – Two people killed have been identified in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 19 in Edgwood.

DPS identified the victims as 63-year-old Karen Carlisle of Wills Point and 24-year-old Sara Stoehr of Larue.

According to DPS, Carlisle was driving a 2014 Ford Focus northbound on Highway 19. For some reason, the Ford crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a southbound 2019 Dodge Journey driven by Stoehr.

Carlisle and Stoehr were pronounced dead at the scene.

Three minors in Stoehr’s car were injured and taken to a children’s hospital in Dallas.

Van Zandt County, TX – Two people were killed and three children were injured when two vehicles collided on Highway 19 in Van Zandt County on Saturday.

Texas DPS said the fatal crash occurred on Highway 19 south of U.S. 80 on Sept. 28 around 7:54 p.m.

According to DPS, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2014 Ford Focus was traveling north on Highway 19 when it veered into the southbound lane, striking a 2019 Dodge Journey.

Both drivers were pronounced dead.

Three children in the Dodge Journey were injured. Three minors were transported to a children’s hospital in Dallas.

The incident remains under investigation.
