One dead, one in custody in Blair Co shooting

BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Allegheny Township police and state police are investigating a fatal shooting Thursday evening.

According to Allegheny Township police, officers were dispatched to Longview Drive to investigate reports of a shooting around 6:30 p.m.

The first officers to arrive said they found a 60-year-old man dead from a single gunshot wound. Witnesses told police that the suspect fled the scene before they arrived.

A short time later, the male suspect turned himself in to state police in Hollidaysburg.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and no further details will be released at this time.
