The City of Palmyra names Michael Baker as its new police chief

PALMYRA, Mo. (WGEM) – The City of Palmyra named a new police chief Thursday evening.

Michael Baker has been named the new Police Chief for the City of Palmyra, replacing long-time Police Chief Eddie Bogue.

Bogue retired after nearly 20 years as Palmyra’s police chief.

Baker originally began his law enforcement career in Lewis County, Missouri.

He hopes to hit the ground running in this position.

“I use my entire team, we throw things around and together. We are trying to reach out to the public more. Our police department places a high value on active threat training, so we are preparing to do more of it,” Baker said.

While the process for a new police chief was a long time coming, Baker said his team is ready to get to work.
