A Grand Junction woman suffers a freak accident

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – A tragic accident occurred involving a local woman during the Fruita Fall Festival. The injuries have left her with a broken knee and a broken tibia – not to mention a long list of expenses that keeps growing.

To help Christina and her family during this time, a GoFundMe has been set up. To learn more and donate, visit this link.

Christina Tuttle prepared for another day of business. Her sister Deborah Tuttle tells us, “She races back and the place is full of other food trucks. And it was just a random accident where the cinder block under the trailer completely burned and broke underneath.”

She said this caused the trailer to roll forward, pinning her leg against her truck and trailer. She lay there screaming for help for five minutes, and it took about six to eight people to push the pendant off her leg before she could be freed and taken to the hospital.

“She sent me pictures of what was going on. Her kneecap collapsed, as did her shinbone. Her whole leg is jacked up. They thought they might have to amputate her leg because of the pressure,” Deborah said.

Christian has already had a few surgeries and her family says she has more to come. Her doctors recommend six months of internal rehabilitation if she is to walk again. “She is extremely emotional. She is a strong woman. I think it’s more because of the pain and the impact it has on her and her business,” her sister noted.

Christina and her family are grateful for the support they have received from the community.

We’ve had the opportunity to speak with Christina and Korean Corn Dogs in the past.
