Morro Bay man convicted of making criminal threats against his ex-girlfriend

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. – On Thursday, San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow announced that Eric Douglas Zentzis of Morro Bay was convicted of making criminal threats against his ex-girlfriend.

The offense is considered a strike offense under California’s Three Strikes Law, the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office added in a news release about the sentencing.

During the weeklong trial, jurors were presented with evidence that Zentzis left more than 50 voicemails and multiple text messages threatening his ex-girlfriend between New Year’s Eve 2023 and Jan. 6, 2024, according to the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office.

Zentzis is currently scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 6, 2024, in Division 9 of the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court, where he faces a maximum sentence of three years in state prison, the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office said.
