The Tampa Bay Times releases its voter guide for the 2024 general election

Tampa Bay voters have a lot to consider when casting their ballots in November.

Florida Democrats fielded a candidate in all 140 state legislative elections this year for the first time in decades.

Republicans also fielded candidates in most of these contests, and certainly in every race in Tampa Bay.

But who’s all running? What do they stand for and how would they advocate for the constituents they seek to serve?

The Tampa Bay Times interviewed local legislative candidates as well as dozens of candidates running for Congress, county commissions, school boards and more.

The result is this year’s voter guide. You can find it online at tampabay.com/voterguide.

The guide profiles more than 90 candidates in more than 40 races in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties. These include those running for Hillsborough district attorney and Pasco’s next superintendent, as well as the highly anticipated Pinellas congressional district contest hosted by Anna Paulina Luna.

Dozens of our journalists worked to put this together. While some parts of the guide were written by reporters, many of the candidates’ answers are in their own words. Nearly 90% of them responded to open-ended questions about their priorities and positions on issues important to our community.

The ballots are already in the mail. If you are completing your application at home, use our guide as a reference. With an interactive function you can create an individual ballot paper for your desired candidates. If you’re voting in person, you can bring it to your polling place on your phone or print out an easy-to-read document.
