A woman was hospitalized after a bus crash in downtown Charlottetown, police said

A woman was hospitalized with unspecified injuries after a bus crash in downtown Charlottetown.

A section of Grafton Street between Great George Street and Prince Street has been closed since midday Thursday and police say it is expected to remain closed for several hours while the investigation continues.

Charlottetown Police Commander Ron Kennedy said the accident occurred near the crosswalk in front of Zion Presbyterian Church.

Kennedy said no one on the Maritime Bus coach was injured. The passengers were transferred to another bus and taken to their destination.

The bus is still on site, the area is surrounded by police cordons and barricades, and investigators are taking photos and measurements.
