Stepfather sexually abuses mentally disabled girl, police register a case

A case of sexual abuse of a mentally challenged girl by her stepfather and beating by her stepsister’s husband came to light in Thane on Thursday. In this case, the mentally challenged girl’s elder brother has lodged a complaint against both of them at Chitalsar police station. Based on this complaint, the police initiated a case against the accused.

The victim, a 26-year-old girl, lives in Thane district. She has a learning disability and cannot speak properly. She is also disabled on one leg. This was her mother’s third marriage after her father’s death. She lived with her mother. Her second stepfather’s daughter and her husband also lived in the same house.

Her stepfather sexually abused her for a year and her stepsister’s husband beat her. The victim’s mother died on September 24th from a serious illness. After the mother’s death, the victim’s older brother took her to his home.

The victim’s health had deteriorated. Traces of beatings were visible on her forehead and body. When her brother asked her about the injuries on her body, she gestured and told her what had happened to her. When her brother conducted the medical examination, it was discovered that she had been repeatedly sexually abused and beaten.
