Pedophile child murderer refused to be released from prison

A convicted pedophile who murdered a schoolboy has been refused release from prison.

Dominic McKilligan kidnapped, beat and strangled 11-year-old Wesley Neailey in Newcastle in 1998 and was sentenced to life in prison the following year.

Nine months earlier, McKilligan, then 18, had been released from the Aycliffe Young People’s Center in County Durham, where he had been sent because of a series of sexual attacks on boys in his hometown of Bournemouth.

The parole board also declined to recommend his transfer to an open prison.
