WINSTON MAN DIES IN ACCIDENT IN CAMAS VALLEY ON MONDAY – KQEN News Radio

A Winston man died in a single-vehicle crash in the Camas Valley area Monday afternoon.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 3:25 p.m. the wreck was reported in the 2000 block of Upper Camas Road. CPR was performed and the driver, 80-year-old John Parret, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The pickup truck left the roadway and traveled about 380 feet before coming to a stop after hitting a pole and falling down an embankment.

The report said it appeared the driver may have suffered a medical event that caused the accident.
