Man wanted for child sex crimes in Texas was found and arrested in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) – A man wanted for child sex crimes out of the state of Texas has been found and arrested as court documents reveal crimes that date back decades.

Jackson County, Missouri, court records reveal that Sean J. Haynes, 48, was charged on Monday, September 30, as a fugitive from another state for alleged child sex crimes that occurred on November 20, 2023, in Bexar County, Texas.

Bexar County court documents say Haynes was charged with theft, aggravated sexual assault of a child and failure to register as a sex offender.

The Texas Public Registry of Sex Offenders said Haynes was sentenced to a lifetime of annual reports to the registry after he was charged with statutory sodomy of an 11-year-old girl in 2008.

It was also discovered that extradition had been refused. As of Wednesday, Haynes remains behind bars with no bond listed. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday, October 10th at 8:45 a.m. No further information was released.
