Men attack 22-year-old, urinate on him and record the act: UP Cops

Sonbhadra:

A group of men allegedly attacked and urinated on a 22-year-old man in Sonbhadra in eastern Uttar Pradesh, prompting police to file a criminal complaint in the matter.

A senior official said on Wednesday that the main accused, who led the group of seven to eight people, has been taken into custody.

Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Singh said the incident took place on the evening of September 26 when Pawan Kharwar was attacked by Ankit Bharti and his associates.

“The incident took place near barrier number 1 in Shaktinagar police station area. The accused beat him, urinated on him and took a video of the act,” Singh said.

The matter came to light almost a week after the victim’s brother Ankit Kharwar highlighted it on social media.

ASP Singh said, “Soon after the incident, Kharwar and his brother traveled to Baidhan in Madhya Pradesh and have now returned. In the meantime, they have not contacted the local police or the emergency number 112.” He said the Bharti has been taken into custody.

Police said they have lodged an FIR under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Section 191 (rioting), 190 (member of unlawful assembly), 115(2) (voluntary hurt), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace). and 351, filed (2) (criminal intimidation), 109 (attempt to murder), 117(2) (voluntary infliction of serious injury), 133 (assault or criminal force with intent to dishonor a person, except by grave provocation).
