Tragic drowning accidents in Bihar: Six fatalities in separate incidents

At least six people, including two boy scouts, have tragically drowned in two separate incidents in Bihar, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

An incident took place in Gaya where two scouts, who were volunteers during the Pitru Paksha Mela, drowned while bathing in the Phalgu river. While three more scouts were rescued by the State Disaster Management Authority, the district administration announced a gratuity of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased.

In another shocking incident, four people, including two teenage girls, were killed in Sitamarhi district on Tuesday evening. According to District Magistrate Richie Pandey, the victims fell into a pond in Bathnaha area and drowned. Local police and SDRF personnel recovered their bodies and rescued one person, whose condition is currently stable.
