Two men were injured in stabbing and hacking attacks

Two men were injured after they were hacked and stabbed in Sipalay and Kabankalan towns, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, October 1.

Johnny Mallosa, 21, resident of Brgy. San Jose, Sipalay, was injured after being hacked by Rolly Brigoli, 36, a carpenter and resident of Brgy. Canturay in the same city, police reported.

The investigation revealed that the victim was hacked in the neck and knee while retrieving his bed in an apartment building where the suspect worked as a carpenter.

The victim ran to his house for help and was taken to a hospital in Sipalay but was referred to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment.

The suspect was arrested and is now being held at the Sipalay Police Station.

Meanwhile aka “Rolan,” 51, and a salesman from Sitio Utod, Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan, was also injured after he was stabbed while entering a cafe in Brgy. 1, police reported.

The suspect was identified by the alias “James,” 39, of Phase 5, Brgy. 1, Kabankalan.

The investigation revealed that the suspect took his steel gaff and stabbed the victim multiple times.

The victim was taken to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital and is now in stable condition, while the suspect was arrested and is in police custody.*
