BPD is investigating officer-involved shooting in southwest Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA. (KBAK/KBFX) — Bakersfield police confirmed they are investigating an officer-involved shooting in southwest Bakersfield, according to their X account.

It was reported around midnight on October 2, 2024 in the 200 block of Bloomquist Drive.

Police said there was no solid suspect and there was no reason to believe there was a danger to the community.

An Eyewitness News team confirmed that officers are still investigating the area.

Police are advising the public to avoid the neighborhood.
