Teen arrested after shooting in Northeast DC

Washington, D.C – A teenager has been arrested in connection with a shooting in the Northeast.

On Sunday, September 22, at 1:20 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1600 block of Benning Road in Northeast. Upon arrival, they found a juvenile male victim suffering from a gunshot wound who was then transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators determined that two suspects were involved in an altercation with the victim at a facility. A suspect shot the victim as he tried to escape.

On Monday, September 30, a 14-year-old Northeast juvenile was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (handgun).

The investigation is still ongoing. Authorities encourage anyone with information about this incident to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text the department’s SMS TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the violent crimes in the District of Columbia.

  • Baltimore police arrest woman in fatal shooting

    Baltimore, MD Authorities have made an arrest in connection with a Sept. 22 murder in the Western District.

    Investigators identified 38-year-old Teresa Collins of Baltimore as the suspect who shot and killed 33-year-old Jasmine Simuel in the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

    On September 26, Collins was arrested and taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility where she faces a charge of first-degree murder. She is currently being held without bail.

    The incident was first reported at approximately 9:06 p.m. on September 22nd when West District officers received a ShotSpotter alert. Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified female suffering from a gunshot wound and performed life-saving measures. Paramedics later transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Homicide detectives took over the investigation.
