Neighbors react with shock to child abduction in Greece

GREECE, NY – Neighbors are shocked after a 13-year-old boy was kidnapped at gunpoint in their neighborhood. The child is safe tonight and Greek police have arrested and charged three men.

“I saw bikes on the ground – I saw an SUV with every door in the car open. And they had it cordoned off, you couldn’t even get through, and I heard there was a kidnapping,” a neighbor said.

Neighbors say the details are quite disturbing. According to police, three men – 22-year-old Mikquon Williams, 25-year-old Jayquon R. Martin and 53-year-old Lennis Williams – threatened to shoot the 13-year-old with a loaded rifle, kidnapped him and forced him into custody They entered Jayquon Martin’s apartment for about 45 minutes, made him undress, cut off his hair, smashed his iPhone and handcuffed him.

“I’m disgusted! I mean, we have kids out here playing on these streets, riding bikes and going to school, and it’s terrible. I can’t even believe something like this even happened,” said an unidentified neighbor.

Aaryanna Santiago also lives in Glenora Gardens and is at a loss for words. “This is crazy! Why? “Who would do something like that?” Santiago said.

While he was handcuffed, the three men also forced the child into a car where he sat in the back seat with one of the men to prevent him from escaping, according to police.

“This is horrific – why would you do this to someone, why – to a child – he doesn’t deserve this,” Santiago said.

“To do this to this poor child is terrible. I feel for him and pray for him and his family,” said an unidentified neighbor.

Police confirmed that the child did not know the three men before the abduction. Police could not confirm why the boy was targeted in the first place.

All three men were charged with second-degree kidnapping. Additionally, Martin was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree criminal use of a firearm, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree criminal mischief.
