19-year-old injured in stabbing at Quality Inn in Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) – A 19-year-old is recovering from her injuries after she was stabbed at a Mishawaka hotel Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

Officers were called to the Quality Inn in the 500 block of W. University Drive around 3:45 p.m.

Police said they searched the hotel and adjacent hotels and properties but did not find a victim.

A short time later, they learned that a 19-year-old woman from South Bend had been taken to the emergency room at a local hospital. The woman reportedly suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound to her back.

Police said they later confirmed the stabbing occurred in a room at the Quality Inn.

There is currently no information on a suspect, but police believe this was an isolated incident as there is no threat to the community.
