Police investigate shots fired in Staunton; no ongoing threat

STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) – Staunton Police responded to multiple shots fired in the 1700 block of W. Beverley Street on Tuesday.

The shots were fired around 1:30 p.m. Police identified a suspect and took him into custody. There were no reports of injuries and SPD said there was no further threat to the community.

This is an ongoing investigation and SPD officers are on scene continuing to examine the scene. The SPD asks the population to avoid the area.
