Olathe police officer buried after ‘untimely’ death

OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) – A member of the Olathe Police Department is laid to rest.

Members of numerous law enforcement agencies joined the family and friends of Sgt. Greg Richardson will pay his last respects and lay him to rest on Monday.

Olathe police announced the death of Sgt. Richardson on September 23rd. He died in an off-duty car accident, according to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, where Richardson’s brother works.

Richardson served in many roles with the Olathe Police Department during his tenure. The department said he was hired in 1997.
