Tuesday is Election Day here in Juneau.

This means that it is the last day on which you can cast your vote by postal vote in the local elections. But don’t worry – there are several ways to do this.

The ballot includes three propositions, two recall questions, nine candidates for state legislature – including mayor – and six candidates for school board.

The city has voting centers at City Hall and the Mendenhall Valley Public Library. Doors open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m

Ballot boxes across the city will also be open until 8 p.m. They are located at City Hall, the AEL&P office in Lemon Creek, the Douglas Public Library, the Valley Library and the boat launch in Statter Harbor.

Voters can also return their ballots by mail, but mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and require a first-class stamp. Remember, just because you cast your ballot at 8 p.m. on Tuesday doesn’t mean it will be postmarked for that day.

Preliminary results will be announced on Tuesday evening. The final election results will be confirmed on October 15th.
