Road reopened after two-vehicle collision, teenager recovering from serious injuries

TOWN OF CENTER (NBC 26) – Traffic is back open in the Town of Center and a 16-year-old driver is in the hospital recovering from serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash Monday evening.

Outagamie County officers were called to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of County Trunk O and Mayflower Road before 6 p.m. Monday.

According to authorities, the 16-year-old driver attempted to turn onto Mayflower but failed to yield the right of way when she was struck by an 81-year-old man traveling west.

The 16-year-old girl was taken to Thedastar, the 81-year-old man suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed for almost three hours but has since reopened.

Authorities say they do not believe alcohol played a role in the incident.
