Tragic collision on Dwarka Expressway: Canter driver dies after hitting stationary truck | Gurgaon News

Gurgaon: A 45-year-old galloper died after his vehicle rammed into a stationary truck on the Dwarka Expressway on Sunday morning. The accident occurred when he was traveling from Delhi to Manesar. A case of a fatal traffic accident was registered against the Truck driverwho is currently on the run, police said.
galloper MD Noor Khan was a resident of Phulaut village in Madhepura district of Bihar and a resident of Shakurpur Basti in Delhi.
According to police, the accident occurred when the driver of an 18-wheeler truck abruptly stopped his vehicle on the highway to repair a flat tire without turning on his vehicle’s emergency lights or turn signals.
“Khan did not notice the stationary truck in time and crashed into its rear section,” said SI Narpal Singh.
The SI added that the impact of the collision completely destroyed the cab of the canter and Khan sustained serious injuries.
Passers-by then alerted the police and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) patrol team and the police rushed to the spot.
A crane was used to pull back the gallop and Khan was freed from the crane and immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Sector 10 where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The complainant, Sahil Khan, son of the canter driver, said: “The driver neither turned on the indicators nor placed safety cones to warn other vehicles. This negligence cost my father his life.”
Based on the complaint, police registered a case under sections 106 (death due to negligence), 281 (rash driving on public roads) and 285 (danger or obstruction on public roads) of the IPC.
“The accused fled the scene after the incident and abandoned the truck. We are making efforts to locate and arrest the accused,” SI Singh said.
