A 14-year-old girl suffers potentially life-changing injuries in an acid attack

A 14-year-old girl was seriously injured after a suspected acidic substance was thrown at her and two others at a school in west London.

Metropolitan Police officers were flagged down by a member of staff following the incident at the school in Alfred Road, Westbourne Park, at around 4.40pm BST on Monday.

The girl remains hospitalized with potentially life-changing injuries.

A 16-year-old boy remains in hospital with non-life-changing injuries, and a 27-year-old woman was sent home from hospital after also suffering injuries in the attack.

Two police officers were taken to hospital as a precaution after they reported feeling unwell.

Tests are being carried out on the substance thrown at the victims and police are searching for the attacker.

According to the BBC, the attack occurred at Westminster Academy.

The school’s website says the site is closed due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
