Arsenal caused a major scare when their star limped off the pitch following an injury during the NLD win over Spurs

Arsenal secured a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur away from home on Sunday after Brazilian centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes scored a second-half header.

Arsenal went into the game with multiple injuries but managed to prevail over their city rivals after a brilliant corner from Bukayo Saka set up the winning goal.

However, coach Mikel Arteta could be sweating over the England striker’s fitness ahead of the trip to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City next weekend.

Saka limped off the pitch after an injury and had to be replaced by Ethan Nwaneri in the final stages of the game.

It appeared the Arsenal star had a problem with his thigh and he will undergo medical tests this week to determine the extent of the lump.

The Gunners are back in action on Thursday when they visit Atalanta in the opening game of the league phase of the Champions League and being without the influential Saka would be a huge blow.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard badly missed the north London derby with an ankle injury sustained while playing for Norway on Monday, while Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko were both ruled out with a calf injury.
