Rochester man accused of dozens of sexual assaults pleads guilty

ROCHESTER, MN (KROC-AM News) – A Rochester man entered a guilty plea today accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a young girl.

40-year-old David Kochen was charged two years ago with four counts of first-degree sexual assault. The indictment alleged that he sexually abused a child under the age of 10 several times over a three-year period.

The criminal complaint states that investigators found out about the attacks when they interviewed the victim in July 2022. She stated that the first sexual assault she remembered occurred in the summer of 2015.

The court document says the girl told investigators that she estimated she had been sexually abused more than 40 times. She said the attacks occurred at two homes in Stewartville, a home in Plainview and during a vacation.

According to Olmsted District Court records, Kochen entered a guilty plea to a single count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct this morning and held a hearing. His plea agreement calls for the dismissal of the four other charges.

Kochen is scheduled to be sentenced in early December.
