Officer-involved shooting in Atlanta’s Oakland City neighborhood is under investigation

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A police officer-involved shooting occurred Monday evening in Atlanta’s Oakland City neighborhood, according to MARTA Police.

MARTA police said the shooting occurred at 1305 Oakland Lane SW, the address of the Rev. James Orange Park in Oakland City in Atlanta’s southwest neighborhood.

They said the investigation into the shooting is being led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), which is common practice in officer-involved shootings, and that the agency could provide additional details about the incident.

The GBI confirmed that MARTA police had asked them to investigate but did not immediately provide further details.
