Things are getting spooky in New Orleans, Halloween is getting closer and closer Entertainment/Life

NEW ORLEANS NIGHTMARE: The haunted attraction is open through November 2nd at 319 Butterworth St. in New Orleans and features additional experiences, two secret bars and three new attractions: Dead Again, Dead Hour and Craft of the Midnight. Tickets start at $19.99.

GHOSTS IN THE OAKS: City Park Conservancy will host the family-friendly event October 17-20 to support improvement projects at the park’s Carousel Gardens, 1 Palm Drive in New Orleans. The event features arts and crafts, pumpkin patches, and trick-or-treating throughout Storyland, and admission includes amusement park rides. Early entry is from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., general admission is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Early entry tickets are $30. General admission is $25. Friends of City Park members, $22. NewOrleansCityPark.org.

CONFIDENT TRUNK-OR-TREAT: Kenner will host its annual Halloween event, presented by Kenner Parks & Recreation, on Oct. 19 from 3 to 10 p.m. at Muss Bertolino Stadium, 620 W. Esplanade Ave. Costumes desired. www.visitjeffersonparish.com

TRUNK-OR-TREAT AT LAFRENIERE PARK: The event, hosted by Dawn Busters, will take place on October 19th from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lafreniere Park, 3000 Downs Blvd. instead of. in Metairie. $15 entry fee. More than 45 vehicles will hand out free candy, plus a food court, carousel rides and spacewalks. www.visitjeffersonparish.com.

Breweries and boos: The adults-only event will take place October 25-26 at the amusement park’s Carousel Gardens at City Park, 1 Palm Drive in New Orleans. Proceeds from the event, which include amusement park rides and unlimited beer, will benefit the continued care and preservation of the city park. VIP tickets are $60; general admission $35. AUTUMN FESTIVAL: The Louisiana Children’s Museum will host its Family Fall Festival on October 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the museum, 15 Henry Thomas Drive in New Orleans. The event features spooky stories around the campfire, brewing potions and pumpkins to paint, the Monster Mash Dance Party, and some spooky crawlers in the Edible Garden. Costumes desired. BOO! DAT 504 HALLOWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA: The celebration will be held on October 26th at 1 p.m. in the 2900 block of Audubon Street in New Orleans. Held to raise awareness and resources on the issue of domestic violence, it also includes a voter registration campaign and activities such as a haunted house, costume contest, STEAM activities, carnival games, food and music. Habana Outpost Haunted House: Camp SoulGrow is celebrating Halloween with a haunted house at Habana Outpost, 1040 Esplanade Ave. on October 29th from 5 to 7 p.m. in New Orleans.
