Akon weighs in on the Diddy drama, calling the music industry a bad influence

Akon may sing about being “Locked Up,” but the singer has no feedback on it Diddy while he is in prison… he tells us that the justice system will sort out the situation.

We caught up with the recording artist at LAX, where Akon avoided commenting on whether Diddy was targeted because of his success as a black man…a defense from his lawyer, Marc Agnifilohas made since the rap mogul’s arrest.

Akon suggested that the idea was simply a “defense mechanism” – but stressed that it was not his job to comment on it.

However, he revealed he’s not entirely happy with the changing music industry… claiming the business hasn’t “been the greatest role model for our youth.”

He added… “I just think there is a spiritual shift happening and we just need to sit back, relax and watch. Minding our own business and whatever people do in their free time is something they have to deal with on their own.”

Diddy was arrested 2 weeks ago in midtown Manhattan as federal agents handcuffed the Bad Boy Records founder at the Park Hyatt. The following day, Diddy was charged with conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation for the purpose of prostitution.

He was rejected without bail – despite everything an attempt at an appeal.
