A body has tragically been found in a desperate search for a missing teenager.

Jamie Lyons, 19, disappeared from Kirkcaldy, Fife, yesterday and was last seen in the Greenloanings area of ​​the town at around 1.30pm.

A hectic search was launched to trace the missing youth.

However, this evening it was confirmed that a man’s body has been found.

The tragic discovery was made in woodland in the Oriel Road area of ​​Kirkcaldy.

Police have confirmed that formal identification is still pending.

But the officials informed Jamie’s relatives about the discovery.

Police believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

A report will be submitted to the public prosecutor.

The discovery sparked great emotions in the community.

On social media, one person said: “Everyone calm down little man and to all his family and friends, keep each other close and look after each other.”

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 4.20pm on Monday, September 30, the body of a man was found in woodland in the Oriel Road area of ​​Kirkcaldy.

“Formal identification is pending, but the family of 19-year-old Jamie Lyons, who was reported missing from the city on Sunday, September 29, has been notified.”

“No suspicious circumstances are suspected and a report will be sent to the Crown Prosecution Service.”
