Nike earnings, Jolts data, Fedspeak: What to watch

As we wrap up the trading day, hosts Josh Lipton and Julie Hyman highlight the key events to watch tomorrow, October 1st.

Looking at earnings, several big-name companies will release their quarterly reports, including Nike (NKE), McCormick (MKC), Paychex (PAYX), and Cal-Maine Foods (CALM).

Turning to economic data, monthly car sales figures are due to be released, with Ward’s total vehicle sales for September forecast at 15.6 million, up slightly from the 15.1 million reported in August. Additionally, JOLTS data is released for August, with economists expecting 7.69 million job vacancies, just above July’s 7.67 million.

Finally, several Federal Reserve officials are scheduled to speak, including Fed Governor Lisa Cook and Richmond Fed President Tom Barkin. Investors will be paying close attention to any insights into the Fed’s future monetary policy direction.
